The Democrats in the Senate are attempting a sneak attack. They have set the hearing on the gun confiscation bill for Tuesday 5/7 hoping that you will be exhausted from defending against their prior assault on your right to keep and bear arms only last week. They could have scheduled all of these bills for one day, but they didn’t.
They hoping that you wouldn’t be willing or able to come to Concord again to defend your rights against this fourth bill, the most dangerous one of all.
Just remember, while the hardworking citizens are at work, those in Concord are intent on stripping us of our rights, and they are making it harder for citizens to share their opinions.
The public hearing for HB696 will be at 9:45AM on Tuesday, May 7 before the Senate Judiciary Committee, State House Room 100.
Please plan to attend and voice your opposition to these blatant attacks on your civil right to be armed. We must work together to make our voices heard. Even if you plan to attend Tuesday’s public hearing, it is important to write to all members of the Judiciary Committee to let them know that you are opposed to all of these bills.

PRE-WRITTEN MESSAGE TO THE SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE:
Dear Committee Members,
HB 696 is a long complex bill, that is attempting to create a new standard in New Hampshire allowing third parties to petition the courts in ex-parte hearings to take away a person’s Second (New Hampshire Article 2 and 2-a), Fourth (New Hampshire Article 19), Fifth (New Hampshire Article 19), and Fourteenth Amendment rights without due process. Sure, the “respondent” can request a hearing — after the fact and spend thousands of dollars on attorneys and experts and only if the order is written. But that is after property has been confiscated and rights have been violated. Ex-parte hearings should never be allowed. The accused should always be part of any hearing conducted. Please vote HB 696 “inexpedient to legislate”. Thank you.
After you have contacted the Judiciary Committee, please click here to find out how to contact your own Senator and then let them know you are opposed to all of these anti-gun bills.
And last, but not least, Email Governor Sununu, governorsununu@nh.gov, (or call him at (603) 271-2121) and urge him to veto HB 696 if it reaches his desk. Please remember to be polite but firm and request that the Governor respond to your message. Now would be an appropriate time to remind Governor Sununu, that no gun control bills were enacted into law during the fourteen years that the Governor’s Office was occupied by Governors Benson, Lynch, and Hassan.
Lastly, it is now time to contact the Governor:
Please politely and firmly tell Governor Sununu that these four bills, HB109, HB514, HB564, and HB696 do not contain anything worthwhile and should promptly be vetoed; anything less can and should be viewed as a sell out of his core constituency.
Governor Sununu has publicly threatened to veto other bills. Gun owners need and deserve to know when he will publicly announce his opposition to HB 696 and all of the other radical proposals that we have been telling you about.
Thanks for your continued support.
In liberty,
Corporate Secretary – NHFC, Inc.P.S.: Have you signed our petition opposing all anti-gun bills? If not, please click here to sign. We have already printed and delivered almost 1,300 of your petitions to Speaker of the House and another box of 2,200 to the Senate Judiciary but we need even more signed petitions before we deliver these to the Governor and Senate President.
