New Hampshire Constitutional Carry Petition

Petition to Enact the New Hampshire Constitutional Carry Bill SB116
To my State Legislators and the Governor of New Hampshire

Whereas: Part 1st, Article 2 of the NH Constitution clearly states “All men have certain natural, essential, and inherent rights – among which are, the enjoying and defending life and liberty; acquiring, possessing, and protecting, property;…”; and

Whereas: Part 1st, Article 2a of the NH Constitution clearly states “All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.”; and

Whereas: The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution clearly states that “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed;” and

Whereas: This inalienable, individual right clearly includes the right of all law-abiding citizens to purchase and carry a gun for self-defense; and

Whereas: The current licensing system is based on racial and gender bias and is a clear violation of that right; and

Whereas: Real-life experience and extensive research both clearly demonstrate that restricting the right to bear arms in self-defense only encourages violent crime; and

Whereas: Constitutional Carry would restore to every law-abiding NH citizen the freedom to carry a gun to protect themselves and their families without needless delays and fees.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, to protect liberty and the right of individuals to defend themselves and their families, and to honor the oath you took to uphold the Constitutions, we urge you to eliminate all fees, penalties and prohibitions on NH citizens who are simply exercising their Natural and Constitutional rights to protect themselves and their families.

Be it further resolved that we, the undersigned, demand the passage of the Senate bill, SB116, Titled “Repealing the license requirement for carrying a concealed pistol or revolver.”
