Altschiller Anti-Gun Red Flag Bill Is Backkkkk!!! Here Is What You Can Do To Stop It.

by Secretary, NHFC on January 22, 2024

There is a lot going on today, especially for those of us in the ‘First In The Nation’ primary.

This year with so much going on in the NH State House, we have needed to focus our efforts on bills and have not completed a score card for the presidential primary.  Unfortunately, when looking at the candidates there are no remaining candidates in the race that are great on our issues, even former President Trump banned bump stocks.

Get out and vote as there are other critical issues that impact our lives.  One of the candidates wants to trample the first amendment.  Yikes!!!

Remember, you are allowed to vote for anyone, including those who suspended their campaigns Let the political donor class and the Main Stream Media know the type of President that you want, by voting for the best option, even if they are not currently and actively running for President.

One of the many bills that we are tracking this year is SB 360-FN, a bill that creates so-called “extreme protection” court orders to deprive law-abiding citizens like yourself their 2nd Amendment rights.  This bill will have a hearing in the Senate Judiciary committee on 01/25/2024, Room 100, SH, 01:30 pm.

This type of legislation commonly referred to as a “Red Flag” law, in that anyone who has a relationship with you can falsely accuse you of being a threat to yourself or others. This bill opens the door to allow courts, without you even being present, to seize your property on the basis of mere hearsay and with the flimsiest of so-called “evidence.”

SB 360-FN is a rinse and repeat bill from Sen. Altschiller who has pushed this type legislation when she was in the House.  If you recall she was offended by our “red flag banner” that showed her picture along side the flags of nations that have banned firearms.

Since the usual standards of evidence are suspended for these accusations, you are at the mercy of a judge who can refuse to hear any witnesses that you wish to present in your favor, nor will you have the right to face your accuser.

This bill makes it so easy for anyone who dislikes you for any reason, including gun collecting and hunting, to file false, baseless and unprovable accusations that can send your life into a tailspin of legal trouble.

And once government goons have your firearms, have fun crawling back to these bureaucrats to get them returned to you.

Indeed, this bill amounts to nothing less than political harassment of law-abiding citizens.

SB 360-FN needs to be stopped, plain and simple. And that is why I’m alerting you today. The bill is scheduled to have its first hearing before the State Senate Judiciary Committee on January 25 at 1:30 pm, in room 100 of the State House in Concord.

I’m asking you to contact your State Senator to oppose this horrendous bill before the Senate Judiciary Committee, and to strongly oppose it when it reaches the Senate floor. In addition, encourage your State Senator to consistently support our 2nd Amendment rights, and to stand up and protect law-abiding citizens from the schemes of the gun-grabbers and their lawless agendas.

Dear Senator,

The New Hampshire Firearms Coalition is an organization that is composed of firearms dealers, manufacturers and owners. NHFC continually tracks legislation that is of interest to our members. They have written to me concerning SB 360-FN, a bill to grant so-called “emergency protection orders” on the basis of mere hearsay and using the lowest standards of “evidence.”

This proposed legislation would deprive law-abiding Granite Staters, like me of their 2nd Amendment rights using the flimsiest of pretexts, and would hold a person accused as guilty until proven innocent.

This type of bill is commonly referred to as a “Red Flag” bill, and we the members of NHFC are strongly opposed to this type of legislation. Not only is it a threat to law-abiding firearms owners, it helps establish precedents to allow some to use similar language to strip all of us of other Constitutional rights. This is especially true today, considering the current trends to politicize our criminal justice system.

SB 360-FN has its hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on January 25. We are urging you to oppose this proposed legislation and to support law-abiding citizens of New Hampshire in exercising their rights.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we hope you will take a stand for voters in our state to protect our right to keep and bear arms.

Lastly, there is a day full of firearm bills on February 2nd.  If at all possible, please take the day off and be at the state house.  The Anti-gun moms are showing up more and more often.  See the picture below.
